Trophy Competition Rules

1. General rules
For each bi-monthly, theme or annual competition members may enter up to two colour prints and/or two monochrome prints and/or two slides in 2” square mounts and/or two projected digital images. The title and author’s name should be shown on the back of each print, which preferably should be not less than A4 size and mounted. Each slide should be spotted in the lower left hand corner when viewed the right way up, and marked with the title and the author’s name. Each digital projected image should bear the title and author’s name. Except for the Annual competition, images must NOT have been entered previously in a Bakewell Photographic Circle trophy competition. An image cannot be entered in more than one category.

2. Bi-monthly competitions (any subject)
Three bi-monthly competitions are held during the season, and a trophy is awarded in each of the colour print, monochrome print, slide and digital projected image categories. Each entry is marked out of 20 and the entrant with the highest cumulative total in each category is awarded a trophy.

3. Theme competition (subject restricted to a theme chosen at the AGM)
A trophy is awarded to the entrant with the highest mark (out of 20) for an entry in either the colour print, monochrome print, slide and digital projected image categories. The photograph entered must have been taken after the immediately preceeding AGM.

4. Annual competition
A trophy is awarded for the colour print of the year, the monochrome print of the year, the slide of the year and the projected digital image of the year, to the entrant with the highest mark for an entry in each category. The entries for the competition MUST have been entered in one of the Bakewell Photographic Circle’s trophy competions during the current season.

5. Points competition
A trophy is awarded to the entrant with the highest total marks in EITHER the colour print or the monochrome print or the slide or the projected digital image categories from the bi-monthly, theme and annual competitions combined, whichever category gives the highest total.
