2008
September 1st Opening night. Bring along prints, slides and digital images taken on the 2008 Bakewell Photographic Circle’s Annual Outing to Whitby with a rail excursion from Pickering to Goathland. A trophy and prize will be awarded for the best image taken on the outing. After the interval there will be several ten minute presentations by members. Friends and prospective new members are welcome to join us for an informal evening.
September 22nd Bob Moore Hon.FRPS, Hon. PAGB, FIPF, past president Royal Photographic Society and Council member RPS amongst many other photographic activities, will give us his “Ever Decreasing Circles”. It includes digital prints taken in this country, Turkey, Georgia, Ethiopia, amongst many others, all printed on Permajet papers. He will also discuss and present a number of 360 degree panoramic images and interact with members on aspects of digital work. His wife Sue Moore FRPS will assist him.
October 6th Members Night. A session of photographic enjoyment, where members can showcase their best images and explain their latest techniques.
Last date for members to bring prints, slides and digital images for the NEMPF 2009 Annual Exhibition selection of the Circle's entry.
October 20th Jim Edmondson, one of our own members, will present a workshop on portraiture with all the studio equipment and a model.
October 22nd (Wednesday) Three way competition for digital images, between Matlock, Ashbourne and Bakewell, held at Matlock.
November 3rd Tony Wharton FRPS AFIAP, with his “Faces of Nature”. Tony is one of the best known and distinguished natural history photographers in the country, and will give us an interesting and varied show with images from all over the world, together with the range of techniques he uses to capture them and the different basic methods he uses. One not to be missed.
November 17th First leg of the bi-monthly competition. Judge Martin Litchfield CPAGB
December 1st Marjorie and Tony Furmston both FRPS will visit us again with another lectureand workshop, “Look at it our way”demonstrating various advanced Photoshop skills and showing us their creative images.
December 15th Christmas Party. Les Nixon, one of our own members, will show us a short presentation and Garry Wingrove will give us a Quiz. The entertainment will be followed by our usual excellent buffet supper.
2009
Saturday 4th January. Opening and trophy presentation of the NEMPF Exhibition at Mansfield. The exhibition will be on display from the 4th January to the 1st February.
January 5th Members’ Night. Ten minute presentations by members followed by “A session of photographic enjoyment” where members can showcase their best images.
January 19th Second leg of the bi-monthly competition. Judge Keith Brown FRPS EFIAP MPAGB FIPF
February 2th Geraldine Hillmer from the Wilmslow Guild Photographic Society will give us an evening of monochrome and colour prints entitled “Less Colour – More Impact”. Geraldine specialises in pastel, misty atmospheric work and monochrome. One not to be missed.
February 16th Third leg of the bi-monthly competition. Judge John Jones ARPS BPE 5*

March 2nd Member’s Night. Another session of photographic enjoyment, where members can showcase their best images and explain their latest techniques.
March 16th NEMPF Annual Exhibition 2008 show with commentary and music. A chance to see the best work in the exhibition.
March 26th (Thursday) Five Clubs Print Competition to be hosted by Bakewell Photographic Circle in Over Haddon Village Hall at 7.30 pm. The clubs are Sheffield, Dronfield, Newark, James Maude and Bakewell. Raffle and refreshments. Judge Ray Bramall ARPS DPAGB BPE2*
March 30th Theme competition “Flowers” The images submitted must have been taken after the 21st April 2008 the date of the 66th AGM. Judge Bill Hall AFIAP DPAGB BPE4*
April 6th Annual Competition. Judge David Gibbins ARPS AFIAP
April 27th 67th Annual General Meeting
May 10th (Sunday) Annual outing to Blackpool
May 18th Annual Dinner. Presentation of trophies, exhibition of winning prints, slides and digital images, also entertainment provided by members, after the dinner. Members and invited guests are welcome.
